1.Novell NetWare

is a network operating system developed by Novell, Inc. It initially used cooperative multitasking to run various services on a PC, and the network protocols were based on the archetypal Xerox XNS stack. NetWare has been superseded by Open Enterprise Server (OES). The latest version of NetWare is v6.5 Support Pack 6, which is identical to OES-NetWare Kernel, Support Pack 2
2.SUSE

is a major retail Linux distribution, produced in Germany and owned by Novell, Inc. SUSE is also a founding member of the Desktop Linux Consortium. SUSE includes an installation and administration program called YaST2 which handles hard disk partitioning, system setup, RPM package management, online updates, network and firewall configuration, user administration and more in an integrated interface. YaST also integrates with SaX2 to help users handle their graphics card and monitor, touch displays, and even additional monitors with Xinerama. In more recent times, many more YaST modules have been added including Bluetooth support.
SUSE Linux Enterprise server (SLES) is also an important part of Novell Open Enterprise Server, which brings all the networking services that were previously available only on NetWare to the Linux platform. SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop (SLED), formerly Novell Linux Desktop, is a desktop-oriented Linux distribution supplied by Novell and targeted at the business market, With SLED 10, Novell has positioned SLED as a competitor to Microsoft Windows by focusing on meeting the needs for basic office workers. Basic office workers are defined in this context as users who need basic desktop functionality, including an office suite, a collaboration client, a web browser, and instant messaging. Novell attempts to meet these needs by concentrating on making these components very compatible with existing enterprise infrastructure, such as Microsoft Office data files, Microsoft Active Directory, and Microsoft Exchange or Novell GroupWise collaboration systems.
3.Novell Open Enterprise Server (OES)

is best thought of as a platform for delivery of enterprise-level shared network services (file, print, directory, clustering, backup, storage management, PKI, web applications, etc.) and common management tools. Unlike competing NOSes, OES can run atop either a Linux or a NetWare kernel. Clustered configurations can include nodes with either kernel types, and most services can migrate freely between the platforms. OES is licensed per user seat, without regard to the number of physical servers on which the product is deployed. Further, pricing is typically not altered by physical CPUs or the use of hardware virtualization technologies (e.g. VMware, Xen). Finally, NetWare and OES both include 2-node licenses for Novell Cluster Services Novell eDirectory is a hierarchical, object oriented database that represents all the assets in an organisation in a logical tree. Assets can include people, positions, servers, workstations, applications, printers, services, groups, etc. eDirectory supports referential integrity, multi-master replication and has a modular authentication architecture. It can be accessed via LDAP, DSML, SOAP, ODBC, JDBC, JNDI and ADSI and has been proven to scale to over 1 billion objects.
4.Novell Identity Manager (IDM)

is Novell's implementation of Identity Management software. Previously known as DirXML the product utilizes XML-based configuration files to determine the product's implemented functions. With synchronization capabilities out of the box including various directories, databases, phone systems, operating systems, and HR systems, IDM strives to ease the administrative efforts of large enterprises by preventing administrative effort duplication.
5.Novell ZENworks

a suite of software products developed and maintained by Novell, Inc. for computer systems management, aims to manage the entire lifecycle of servers, of desktop PCs (both Windows-based and Linux-based), of laptops, and of handheld devices (such as PDAs). ZENworks supports multiple server platforms and multiple Directory Services. Desktop Management allows administrators to install software on, configure, put a hard disk image on, inventory and remotely troubleshoot Windows-based workstations and laptops from a central location, through use of policy-driven automation. Personality Migration consists of a modified version of the DesktopDNA currently owned by Computer Associates. Administrators can use it to migrate documents and settings from one Windows-based computer to another, regardless of the version of Windows running on either machine Software Packaging comprises a special edition of Macrovision's AdminStudio software, which allows administrators to create MSI (installer) packages for distribution. Data Management, a version of Novell's iFolder software, allows users to synchronise data in a specified local folder (an iFolder folder on a Windows workstation with iFolder client software installed) with an iFolder server. Users can access iFolder data on the server from within the local network and via the Internet using iFolder server web interface. (Novell significantly extended iFolder functionality in iFolder 3.0, adding support for Linux workstations and many other features.) Patch Management provides automated patch management, allowing the administrator to mitigate patch-related security threats by automating the collection, analysis, and delivery of patches throughout an enterprise network. Includes a subscription to the world's largest repository of fully automated patches spanning Windows and many Linux and Unix platforms. Patch deployment is fast and accurate with wizard-based deployments and the ability to continuously monitor to ensure that computers stay patched over time. Linux Management leverages the Red Carpet software package which manages RPM packages installed on Linux workstations and servers. At this time, software installation, updates and rollbacks are handled with varying degrees of reliability. Novell provides updates with bug fixes and security patches on RPMs that are distributed with their commercial (SUSE) Linux products. Server Management allows remotely-located administrators to update, configure and troubleshoot Windows, NetWare, and Linux servers through the use of policy-driven automation. Handheld Management allows administrators to remotely update, configure, and inventory Palm, Windows CE, PocketPC and RIM BlackBerry devices. Asset Management handles hardware and software inventories. ZENworks Endpoint Security Management allows companies to establish and enforce security policies down to the endpoints, protecting corporate resources without affecting the productivity of users. It automates corporate security policy enforcement, providing control over data and endpoint access for organisations, while enabling removable drives to be used safely and ensuring wireless security.
6.Novell GroupWise

is a cross-platform collaborative software product from Novell, Inc. offering e-mail, calendaring, instant messaging and document management. GroupWise can operate on a number of server and workstation platforms. Server platforms include NetWare, Linux, and Windows. GroupWise WebAccess provides users with most of the functionality of the desktop clients from a Web browser. It also supports handheld/PDA access via the Web. The GroupWise Post Office Agent (POA) supports IMAP and SOAP access to user mailboxes, in addition to the native client.
